Markham, it’s time to celebrate!

Join us on Canada Day (July 1) from 3 to 10:30 PM at Markham Centre in Downtown Markham (Birchmount Road/Enterprise Boulevard). We have an action-packed day planned with lots of free and fun activities for the whole family to enjoy.

Tyler Shaw

Tyler Shaw is a multi-Platinum-selling artist. He's a multi-JUNO Award nominee known for many platinum hit singles including To the Man Who Let Her Go, With You and Love You Still.

Tyler is working on his forthcoming album and will join us in Markham for our Canada Day celebrations.

elijah woods
elijah woods is a four-time JUNO-nominated pop singer-songwriter and producer. His debut solo single, lights hit number 8 on Top 40 and AC radio in Canada and was certified Canadian Gold.

He has spent 35 weeks on Billboard’s Canadian Emerging Artist chart, staying in the Top 5 for 20 weeks.

noelle

21-year old pop songstress, noelle, was raised on the indigenous reserve in the Tyendinage Mohawk territory in Ontario. She grew up surrounded by music and quickly learned the power of her pitch perfect voice.

Doo Doo the ClownA Canada Day favourite! He was made famous in the hit movie, Billy Madison, and has been an annual fixture in Markham’s Canada Day celebrations for years.

Aaron MatthewsAaron’s show is a unique mix of gut busting laughter, high energy dancing, impossible magic, inspiring stories and shocking moments!


Chinese Collective Arts Association (CCAA)
Chinese Collective Arts AssociationChinese Collective Arts Association (CCAA) is a non-profitable organization established in 2009, hosting a variety of performances, workshops, and events to offer opportunities for members to be exposed to various art forms of Chinese culture.
Markham Federation of Filipino Canadians (MFFC)
Markham Federation of Filipino Canadians is a non-profit organization committed to the promotion and preservation of the Filipino culture and heritage with youth and seniors programs. Within the MFFC is Rhythm Re-Choired, a youth based mentorship program with a focus on the performing arts. Rhythm Re-Choired, with members from the age of 8 to 18, share a passion for performance of song and dance and share this love with our community.
Dance Expression
Dance ExpressionDance Expression is Markham's first and only Bollywood dance studio hosting classes for all ages, workshops and a variety of performances. Their aim is to inspire through dance and for creatives to learn about South Asian culture.

There will be a variety of delicious food options available including:

  • BBQ pork and steak
  • Churros
  • Grilled chicken and pulled pork
  • Hot dogs
  • Ice cream
  • Salad
  • And more!


Children's activities brought to you by alectra utilities

Children will have fun participating in many of the day’s free activities including:

  • Airbrush tattoos
  • Interactive dance party
  • Markham recreation trailer (sports activities)
  • CoComelon – meet Cody and JJ!

Celebrate everything you love about Canada Day with The Pride of Canada Carousel.

  • Open from 11 AM to 9 PM on July 1
  • $1 rides on the carousel and free popcorn for all while supplies last

About the Pride of Canada Carousel:

The unique and environmentally friendly Pride Of Canada Carousel is the kinetic centerpiece of Remington’s public art initiative. Unlike any carousel ever created, each of its 44 rideable sculptures has been lovingly crafted from found and/or recycled objects. To source materials, artist Patrick Amiot embarked on a road trip across Canada, finding scrap metal and abandoned items that represented Canada’s diverse range of places and people. The Carousel serves as a cultural landmark and venue for community gatherings and events on Downtown Markham.
