The commission provides direction and support to envision, create and deliver the most livable community in North America. Aligned with the City's four goals (Exceptional Services by Exceptional People, Engaged, Diverse and Thriving City, Safe and Sustainable Community and Stewardship of Money and Resources), this is achieved through a multi-disciplined team of professional, technical and administrative staff, balancing individual customer and partner's requirements with the broader public interest. This includes safe buildings, a healthy environment, a strong local economy, well-planned neighborhoods, quality infrastructure, excellent culture venues and activities and a people friendly community.
