Councillor Amanda Yeung Collucci (楊綺清) and her family have been residing in Markham Ward 6 for over 20 years. They have been delighted to be part of what has become a growing, blossoming and vibrant community.
Amanda is the first Chinese female elected to the City of Markham Council in 2014 and was re-elected for a second term (2018-2022) as the Ward 6 Councillor. She is the first Chinese Councillor appointed as the Budget Chair at the City of Markham and also believed to be the first appointed as Budget Chair in a York Region municipality. As Chair of Markham’s Budget Committee, she was instrumental in helping Markham to achieve the second lowest tax rate increase of any other municipality in the Greater Toronto Area.She is the Co-Chair of Markham’s Canada Day Celebration Committee, the Markham-Milliken Children’s Festival and the Mayor’s Chinese New Year Dinner. Amanda launched Markham's first Star Search talent competition. She is currently on the Board of Directors for Markham District Energy as well as Destination Markham Corporation, an organization whose mandate is to enhance tourism in the City of Markham.
Amanda has over 20 years of business experience both as an entrepreneur and in leadership roles at IBM. She has received accolades for her entrepreneurship from the Association of Chinese Canadian Entrepreneur (ACCE) and was named winner of the 2015 RBC Top 25 Immigrant Award. Amanda is dedicated to serving the community and is known for her passion and pursuit of excellence.
She has been extensively involved in several areas in the community. Amanda has served as the Vice President of ACCE, a not-for-profit organization encouraging entrepreneurship while providing inspiration for new and established entrepreneurs. She was also a Co-Chair for Castlemore Public School Parent Council and helped to resolve the traffic concerns in the area.
Through her leadership and involvement in community events, more than $700,000 has been raised in support of charitable groups and other important causes including the Lions Club, Flato Markham Theatre, Chinese Cultural Centre of Greater Toronto, 360 Kids, Federation of Chinese Canadians in Markham (FCCM), Yellow Brick House and more. She is also involved in fundraising activities for Markham Stouffville Hospital.
As a former frequent speaker at Centennial and Seneca Colleges, she promoted entrepreneurship by sharing her personal and business success experiences, along with her immigration story.

General boundaries: Ward 6 is bounded on the north by the northern boundary of the City, south by 16th Avenue, west by Warden Avenue, and east by Highway 48 and Main Street Markham.
