Olympic & Paralympic Celebration Parade

On Sunday, Sept. 22, the City of Markham is holding a celebration parade in honour of our local Olympic and Paralympic athletes featuring seven-time Olympic medallist Andre De Grasse.
De Grasse became the most decorated Canadian male Olympian of all time when he won the gold medal in the Men’s 4 x 100M relay at the Paris 2024 Summer Olympics.
Following his incredible performance, Markham Mayor Frank Scarpitti proclaimed Aug. 9th Andre De Grasse Day.
The Olympic and Paralympic Celebration Parade will give the public an opportunity to congratulate our Canadian athletes on their outstanding performances in Paris.

The parade starts at Birchmount Rd. and Enterprise Blvd. It goes east along Enterprise Blvd. and ends at University Blvd.

Parking is available for the public at the Aviva Canada parking lot (10 Aviva Way) and the Cineplex Cinemas lot (179 Enterprise Blvd.).
Road closures will be in effect to support the safety of attendees, participants and residents during the event. From 12 PM to 4 PM on Sept. 22, Enterprise Boulevard from Andre de Grasse St. to University Blvd. will be closed to through traffic. University Blvd. will also be closed between YMCA Blvd. and Enterprise Blvd.
