Markham Community Makers
Let’s get building! Markham Museum’s new, interactive exhibition, Markham Community Makers, has fun with modern do-it-yourself.
Makers are the new generation of do-it-yourself culture. Our grandparents and parents worked with manual tools to complete home repairs, paint, fashion clothing, cook, preserve, and garden and we continue in this tradition.
Earlier generations of Makers relied on reference books, manuals, magazines and perhaps their neighbours for knowledge, skills and inspiration. The newest generations integrate creative skills with technology in new and multidisciplinary ways. They also work with global networks to research, find inspiration, and join supportive communities.
Meet some of Markham’s Makers, of both the digital and analog realms. Then test your own design skills and engineering talents as you fashion structures using KEVA blocks.
See what the Makers have in store! For more details, please visit MarkhamMuseum.ca
Carlton Road Traffic Calming Public Consultation
The population of the City of Markham is growing rapidly. As our roads become busier with more pedestrians, cyclists, and vehicles, it is important for us to address traffic safety concerns and improve overall community safety.
We are conducting a traffic calming study for Carlton Road between Kennedy Road & McCowan Road. We invite you to share your feedback and ideas at our community engagement meeting.
For Carlton Road between Kennedy Road & McCowan Road:
Time: Wednesday, May 29, 2024 from 6 – 8 PM
Location: Markham Civic Centre - Canada Room, 101 Town Centre Boulevard, Markham
If you couldn’t make it to the public consultation in person, you could also visit our website for project updates and provide feedback at markham.ca/CarltonRoadSafety
