Curbside Giveaway Day is coming to Markham on Saturday, October 5 (rain or shine)
Curbside Giveaway Day is a great opportunity to give your pre-loved, gently used things a second life and out of the landfill.
Markham residents are invited to place their unwanted, gently used items - clearly marked “FREE” - at the curb for others to browse and take for their own use, free of charge. It’s like a garage sale without the hassle! Anything that does not find a new home must be taken back in by 7PM on the same day, as there will be no special municipal collection.

ScaryFest Presented by The Friends of Markham Museum
Join us as we transform our 25-acre site into a ghoulishly grand Halloween town – a family event perfect for kids 10 and under! Come in costume, experience the site and many family friendly activities. Entrance is by timed ticket, please pick the entrance time slot that works best for you and guarantee your spot today! Heintzman House Artisan Craft Show
Please join us on November 9th & 10th, 2024, from 10 AM to 5 PM for the *52nd Annual Heintzman House Artisan Craft Show*. This City of Markham’s magnificent heritage home will host talented artisan vendors on all three floors of the house. With over 40 artisans, there will be something for everyone!
Featuring honey, hot sauces, award-winning jams and spreads, decadent chocolate delights, beautiful jewelry, home and holiday décor, ceramics, fun children’s items and cozy hand knits, wood craftmanship, decadent soaps, all-natural body care, and much more to surprise and delight you. This awe-inspiring event is not to be missed!
Come enjoy a delicious treat at the Craft Show Cafe and browse the Show's offerings of the community’s many talented and skilled artisans, makers and designers.
*Entrance is $5.00 at the door, and children 12 years and under are free.* Cash and Debit will be accepted.

The Markham Fair is Back October 3 - 6
The Markham Fair is back in full swing this year! The urban and rural worlds meet at the Markham Fair on October 3, 4, 5, and 6, 2024. There is something for everyone to celebrate – from art and entertainment to animals and country cooking!
This year, the Markham Fair features a variety of performers, from a meet and greet with Bluey’s Bluey and her sister, Bingo, to the renowned Freestyle MX Big Air Insanity and Monster Truck Crush show to the fabulous President’s Choice SuperDogs. They also have a terrific Teen Talent Show, Best Scarecrow, and Best Dressed Pet competitions, as well as a Monster Midway for fun.
Others will enjoy the High-Octane Tractor Pulls, a Demo Derby, Livestock shows, and the biggest Pumpkins and Squashes you’ll ever see!
With all those activities, you’re guaranteed to work up an appetite for some of the
best country cooking and home baking that every city wishes it had!
