Candidate & Third Party Advertiser Registration Now Available Online - Municipal Election
MARKHAM, ON – May 2, 2022 – This October, voters will have 250 hours to cast their ballots online or in person in the 2022 Markham Municipal Election from October 14 to 24 for the offices of the Mayor, Regional Councillor, Ward Councillor and School Board Trustee.
Individuals looking to make a difference in their community are encouraged to run for Markham City Council or School Board Trustee in the upcoming municipal election. Local government and school boards deliver important services that residents rely on every day. Help build Markham’s future and shape an engaged, diverse, thriving and vibrant city!
Candidates can register online using Election Markham’s secure nomination portal until August 19 at 2 PM. Step-by-step instructions on how to register as a candidate are available at electionsmarkham.ca/CandidateRegistration.
Have something to say? Any person, corporation, or trade union that plans to spend money on political advertisements during the 2022 Markham Municipal Election needs to register as a third party advertiser online before October 21 at 5 PM. Instructions on how to register as a third party advertiser and the rules for political advertising are available at electionsmarkham.ca/PoliticalAdvertising.
Elections Markham will be hosting two virtual Candidate & Third Party Advertiser Information Sessions on Zoom:
- Session 1: Thursday, June 9 from Noon to 2 PM (Eastern Time)
- Session 2: Thursday, July 28 from 7 to 9 PM (Eastern Time)
