City of Markham receives over $2.9 million for community infrastructure and revitalization projects
MARKHAM, ON – December 22, 2022 – The City of Markham is delighted to have received a contribution from the Government of Canada, through the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario (FedDev Ontario), under the Canada Community Revitalization Fund (CCRF). The $2,939,700 investment, announced in August 2022, will fund existing and new projects that support the creation and revitalization of physical structures, transportation systems, and improve community greenspace benefiting the City of Markham and its residents.
With a national investment of $500 million over two years, the CCRF supports projects that build new community infrastructure and revitalize existing assets, bring people back to public spaces safely and stimulate local economies. This includes $139 million for projects in southern Ontario, delivered by FedDev Ontario.
The six projects through Markham’s Operations and Engineering departments are currently underway.
