Markham-Milliken Children’s Festival named a Top 100 Event in Ontario for 2023
MARKHAM, ON – March 24, 2023 – After a two-year hiatus, the City of Markham’s Markham-Milliken Children’s Festival, presented by Tim Hortons, returned in-person in 2022, and was recently named a Top 100 Event in Ontario for 2023 in the York, Durahm and Hills of Headwaters Tourism Region category by Festivals & Events in Ontario (FEO).
“To return in-person after a two-year absence, and be recognized as one of the best events in the province is a testament to all of the hard work, dedication and people who came together to make Markham-Milliken Children’s Festival a success,” said Markham Mayor Frank Scarpitti. “Throughout the day, there’s something for everyone and fun-filled activities and entertainment for kids of all ages to enjoy. We can’t wait to see the community back again this summer for more fun!”
The Top 100 Awards acknowledge festivals and events that excel within the Ontario event industry and represent some of the most well-known and respected celebrations in the province. After a two-year break, 2023 marked the triumphant return of this prestigious award which was welcomed back on March 8 during FEO’s Annual Conference in Niagara Falls, Ont.
“Having the 2022 Markham-Milliken Children’s Festival recognized by the FEO Top 100 Festivals and Events in Ontario is especially meaningful, as this acknowledges the hard work and dedication our teams brought forth to bring this in-person event back after two years of virtual-only events,” said Chris Rickett, Director, Economic Growth, Culture and Entrepreneurship – Development Services Commission at the City of Markham.
One of the highlights of the summer, the Markham-Milliken Children’s Festival, presented by Tim Hortons, is a family-friendly festival offering a wide variety of fun, safe and educational Play Zones, activities, entertainment and food options for families of all ages.
