Markham-Milliken Childrens Festival returns in-person at Aaniin Community Centre!
MARKHAM, ON – September 6, 2022 – The City of Markham is delighted to announce the return of our in-person Markham-Milliken Children’s Festival, presented by Tim Hortons, on Saturday, September 10 outside of Aaniin Community Centre (5665 14th Ave.).
One of the highlights of the Summer, this family-friendly festival begins at 10 AM and attendees can enjoy free admission to arts & crafts, games and entertainment until 6:30 PM.
“After a two-year hiatus, we are excited for the return of Markham-Milliken Children’s Festival,” says Markham Mayor Frank Scarpitti. “This event is one the entire community looks forward to all Summer long and we can’t wait to see everyone out enjoying all of the fun activities that are planned.”
The Markham-Milliken Children’s Festival will offer a wide variety of fun, safe and educational Play Zones and activities for kids of all ages including the Building Block Area, STEM & Interactive Activities Area and more. There will also be magic shows happening throughout the day, juggling acts, live music and delicious food trucks.
Indigenous performer, Chad Solomon, will entertain guests of all ages with his comical, educational and highly interactive puppet show, “Rabbit and Bear Paws: The Way.”
In addition to sponsoring the GO-VAXX bus clinic from 10 AM to 6 PM, York University is hosting a number of free activities at this year’s Markham-Milliken Children’s Festival. Get moving by participating in fun sport activities led by York U club and varsity athletes. Stop by the York U photo booth to take a picture with the University’s mascot, Yeo the lion, and learn more about the unique programming Markham Campus will deliver to York Region when doors open in Spring 2024.

(Height restrictions apply to select rides. Be sure you check the sign at each attraction to make sure your child is able to participate.)
Shuttles will run between Milliken Mills Community Centre & Library and the Markham-Milliken Children’s Festival beginning at 9:30 AM with the last shuttle to the festival at 6 PM and the last shuttle departing to Milliken Mills Community Centre & Library at 7:30 PM.
No parking will be available at the festival; however, free parking is available at Milliken Mills Community Centre & Library for those using the shuttle service. Additional limited parking will be available within walking distance to the festival at Middlefield Collegiate Institute.
