Markham Museum to reopen to the public on May 4
MARKHAM, ON – April 28, 2022 – After more than two years of being closed due to COVID-19, the Markham Museum is thrilled to announce it will fully reopen to the public on Wednesday, May 4.
Just in time for Summer, the Museum will be offering a variety of in-person camp programs with registration opening on April 29 at 9 AM. To register for programs, please visit markham.ca/MuseumCamps.
“I am pleased that Markham Museum can welcome back visitors,” said Markham Mayor Frank Scarpitti. “The Markham Museum is a well-respected and nationally recognized museum that continues to play an important role in shaping and championing Markham’s rich history. I hope you, your family, and friends will have the opportunity to safely visit and enjoy the excellent programs and events Markham Museum has to offer.”
Some of the Summer camp programs available include:
- Science Magic
- Future Engineers
- Superhero Science
- Pottery Camp
The Museum will also be available for rentals to the public, for occasions including weddings, family events and public gatherings.
In advance of its reopening on May 4, the Museum has implemented a number of health and safety measures including: touchless washroom facilities, increased sanitation stations in the galleries and in locations where there are hands-on activities, as well as regular sanitation of gallery interactives.
Following the provincial guidelines on face masks, masks are not required at the Museum, however following public health guidelines are strongly encouraged, and those who wish to wear a mask may continue to do so.
