  • Zhezhi (Paper Folding): Explore the 2,000-year-old art form that inspired paper-folding traditions around the world, including Japanese origami.
  • Chinese Paper Cutting: Master the Tang Dynasty folk art of creating intricate designs, including bat motifs that symbolize prosperity and blessings (Fu).
  • Calligraphy: Experience the grace of Chinese calligraphy as you create characters with visual beauty and emotional resonance.

🎲 Snake-Themed Crafts & Games

  • Celebrate the Year of the Snake with creative and interactive activities for all ages.

Where is the Lunar New Year Event located?
Markham Museum at 9350 Markham Rd. ON L3P 3J3, in our Transportation Hall.

What happens if there is inclement weather?
We will operate rain, shine, or snow. Please be sure to dress for the weather, as you will need to travel outside to reach our Transportation Hall.

Can I drop off my child to attend the event unaccompanied?
No, all children must be accompanied by an adult for the duration of their visit.

Is there parking?
Parking is free and located onsite and in surrounding areas.

Are dogs allowed?
No, this is not a pet-friendly event.

Can I use my Markham Museum Membership to gain entry?
Yes, all current Museum members are welcome to attend. Please check in at our front desk to gain access.

Can I use my ASTC/Attractions Ontario/ROAM membership or Free Admission Pass to gain entry?
