Museum Pottery: 10-Week Adult Wheel Throwing Course (Open to all levels)

Learn how to throw on the pottery wheel! This extensive 10-week course will help you to build a foundation of skills or on top of your existing experience required to successfully create your very own ceramic vessels. No experience required.

Includes up to 10 kg of clay, firing, as well as glazes and underglazes.

Museum Pottery: 5-Week Beginner Wheel Throwing Course

Learn how to throw on the pottery wheel! This shorter 5-week course will help you to build a foundation of skills required to successfully create your very own ceramic vessels. By the end of the course, we would have explored forms such as tumblers, bowls, and vases! No experience required.

Includes up to 5 kg of clay, firing, as well as glazes and underglazes.

Age: 18+

Museum Pottery: 5-Week Adult Slab-building Dinnerware Course

Learn how to create your very own dinnerware set using slab building techniques! Through the 5-week course, our experienced instructor will teach you how to create bowls, plates, mugs, as well as various decorating techniques to elevate your pieces to the next level! No experience required.

Includes up to 5 kg of clay, firing, glazes, and underglazes.

Museum Pottery: Sculpture Building Workshop

Unleash your creativity in this immersive sculpture building workshop! Under the guidance of a professional potter, you’ll explore the art of handcrafting unique, expressive pieces from clay. Whether you're a beginner or have some experience, you'll be supported in bringing your vision to life as you sculpt your own handmade object. Enjoy a relaxing, inspiring environment where you can connect with the tactile joy of working with clay while developing new skills and techniques.

Includes up to 500g of clay, firing, as well as glazes and underglazes.

Withdrawal and Refund Policy

Registered Specialty Programs

Registered Specialty Programs include: Summer & Holiday Camps, Varley Art Gallery Courses, Museum Pottery Courses, Private Tennis Lessons, Markham Sports Leagues, Aquatic Leadership Courses, One-day Courses, or Adult Workshops.
A full refund will be provided for any withdrawal and refund request form submitted to the City of Markham more than seven days (exactly 168 hours) before the start time of the first class of the program. Clients can withdraw online, no withdrawal and refund request form is required.
For example, Sebastian is registered in a Summer Camp that starts at 9 AM on Monday July, 15. Sebastian is eligible to receive a full refund if they withdraw online before 9 AM on Monday, July 8.
No transfers, withdrawal or refunds will be provided for any requests submitted within seven days (exactly 168 hours), on, or after, the start time of the first class of the registered specialty program.
Cheque payments will be reimbursed by cheque (approximately four to six weeks after approval).
Please note that the registration system does allow a client to withdraw from a course online within seven days (exactly 168 hours) of the start time of the first class of the program but will not provide a refund or a credit. If this occurs, please contact the contact centre for assistance. The policy for registered specialty programs as indicated above still applies when this occurs.
