ENVIORNMENTAL IMPACT STUDY GUIDELINES
Background
Environmental Impact Studies (EIS) are one of several technical reports that may be prepared in support of a development application. An EIS identifies the potential environmental impacts of a development application and recommends methods to minimize, mitigate and/or compensate for impacts to the natural environment. The City generally requires that an EIS be prepared where development is proposed adjacent to natural heritage features such as woodlands, wetlands and valleylands.
This document is intended to provide clear and consistent guidance for both the preparation of EIS by proponents and the review of EIS by the City. These guidelines replace the previous 2002 EIS guidelines.
