Summer Camp Registration Opening Soon!

Markham Recreation offers hundreds of exciting, safe, educational, creative and active Summer Camps!

Our camps are a mix of fun, learning, and friendship. From hands-on science to outdoor adventures, we make sure our campers have a good time while keeping active and learning. Our great staff are all about keeping things safe, so campers can explore, have fun, and make great memories.

You can start viewing summer camp programs on our new online registration system February 1st. Registration begins February 11.

Special Meeting of Council for Official Plan Review

Join us for an important Special Meeting of Council as the City of Markham embarks on the Official Plan Review!

This public meeting is your chance to shape the future of our community. The meeting will be held on January 23, 2025, at 7 PM in the Council Chambers at the Markham Civic Centre, 101 Town Centre Boulevard, Markham, or you can join remotely via our livestream.

The Official Plan is a vital document that guides Markham’s growth and development, ensuring we build a sustainable, vibrant, and inclusive city. This review is essential to align our plan with new provincial and regional policies and to address the evolving needs of our community.

Your feedback will help us identify key issues and priorities, from housing and transportation to environmental sustainability and economic development. Whether you attend in person or online, your voice matters.

What's the future for Markham's Transportation System? 

Markham is a rapidly growing city, and with this growth comes exciting opportunities to enhance a transportation system that meets the evolving needs of our community and enhances the quality of life for everyone.

The City is initiating our Markham Transportation Master Plan (TMP), a visionary guide for how we’ll move around our city now and in the future.

The Plan will provide a blueprint for improving and expanding transportation options for everyone, whether you walk, bike, use public transit, drive, or explore new ways to travel.

Members of the public have the option to attend either remotely via Zoom or in-person in the Council Chamber at the Civic Centre. Learn how to participate in meetings, email a written submission or request to speak.

The Ontario Planning Act and Ontario Heritage Act mandate the posting of notices related to the respective Acts. As of July 1, 2024, any municipality without a local newspaper may publish Planning Act notices on their website. Heritage Act notices are permitted to be posted on the City website as of May 3, 2023.
