Who Owns this Road
Roads within the City of Markham are "owned" by one of five Road Authorities:
- City of Markham
- Region of York
- City of Toronto
- Ministry of Transportation or
- SLF Joint Venture (Highway 407 ETR)
In general, roads that extend beyond the City of Markham boundaries (For example: Woodbine Avenue, 16th Avenue, Highway 7) are not the responsibility of the City of Markham and fall under the jurisdiction of another authority.
The City of Markham maintains all roads in Markham with the exception of the roads listed below, and including private roads.
