Services Provided
The Ontario Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (OSPCA), continues to provide domestic sheltering and adoption services for the City.
The OSPCA provides the following services to the City:
- Sheltering of all lost pet
- Care of stray domestic animals
- Pet Adoptions
- High Volume Spay/Neuter Clinic for the Public
- Management of our Cat Adoption and Education Centre (CAEC)
As of April 1, 2021, the City’s new Animal Care Services Division provides:
- Citywide Patrols and Enforcement of our Animal Protection and Services By-law
- Public Education and Community Outreach
- Licensing Program for Dogs and Cats
- Free Ride Home for all licensed animals
- Wildlife Transport and Response to sick and injured wildlife
