Apply for a birth certificate

Every child born in Ontario needs a birth registration. Birth registrations come from Ontario's Office of the Registrar General.

If your children were born on or after February 23, 2009, you should register their birth online. Register at www.serviceontario.ca/newborn.

You can also use the online service to:

  • Apply for your newborn's birth certificate
     
  • Apply for your newborn's Social Insurance Number
