Drop Off, Pick Up & Extended Care
Sign-in/Sign-Out Procedures
All campers must be signed in and out of camp each day. A sign in/out sheet indicating the camper’s name, with a space for parent or guardian’s initials, will be located at the entry point of the camp.
Parents and/or guardians will be requested to present photo identification at time of pick up and the names must match the authorized pick-up information on the registration account.
Sign-in/Sign-Out Privileges for campers ages 10 and over
Campers ages 10 years and older may be allowed to sign themselves in and out at the end of the camp day, as long as there is written permission from parents and/or guardian.
Permission can be granted at the time of registration or through the Camper Information Form.
Absent campers
Families should communicate with camp staff if their child is away from camp. If a camper has not signed in within 20 minutes of the official start of camp, staff will attempt to contact the parent or guardian using the contact information provided on the registration account.
Late pick up policy
All parents, guardians or authorized pick-up persons are expected to pick up their child on time. If they are unable to do, the parent or guardian should arrange to have an alternate person pick up their child and notify the camp staff. The alternate pick-up person will need to present photo identification at the time of pick-up.
Late pick-ups disrupt operations and require additional staff supervision, if a camper is repeatedly not picked up on time, a late fee will be applied. The late fee is $10 for every 10 minutes (or portion thereof), past the camp end time. Late fee payment will be processed through the registration account and balances remaining on the account may affect future registration.
Extended Care
Extended care programs offer flexibility for families by providing supervised care before and/or after the regular camp day. These programs typically offer quiet, independent activities like board games, puzzles, crafts, and free play.
Extended care is typically offered at major community centres or libraries and times and cost vary by location.
Families can register online by selecting the week they require this service.
Bussing
Bussing is an optional service for campers attending ECO Camp at Chimo. Families can choose a bus stop at one of the following locations:
- Angus Glen Community Centre
- Cornell Community Centre
- Thornhill Community Centre
Children 10 years of age and under must be signed on and off the bus by a parent or guardian. Each bus will have ECO Camp staff.
