What to bring, valuable and basic camp rules
What to bring
Prepare your child with the essentials for a fun and safe experience. This typically includes:
- Comfortable clothing suitable for indoor and outdoor activities
- Nut-free lunch
- Two nut-free snacks
- Sunscreen
- Hat
- Refillable water bottle
- Any necessary medications such as puffers and EpiPens if required.
Label all your child’s items with their first and last name. Any unclaimed or unlabeled items will be sent to the camp’s lost and found.
Valuables
Campers should not bring valuables to camp. This includes cell phones, gaming devices, and cash.
City of Markham is not responsible for valuables or personal property that are lost, stolen or damaged.
Review basic camp rules
To ensure a positive and enjoyable camp experience for all, families should review the camp's rules and expectations with their child. Some basic rules include:
- Listen to counsellors
- Respect other campers and staff
- Following instructions
- Demonstrate appropriate behavior
- Ask for permission to use water fountains or washrooms
