Air Quality Advisory
Environment Canada has issued a Special Air Quality Statement indicating high levels of air pollution due to smoke from forest fires in Quebec and northeastern Ontario. Poor air quality may continue through most of this week.
Smoke from wildfires can be harmful to everyone’s health, even at low concentrations.
Take action to protect your health and reduce exposure to smoke by:
- Reduce or reschedule outdoor activities
- If you experience shortness of breath, wheezing, severe cough, dizziness or chest pains, contact your healthcare provider
- Keeping indoor air clean by keeping doors and windows closed if the temperature is comfortable
- Limiting use of exhaust fans when you’re not cooking
- Checking in on elders and those who may be more susceptible to smoke
