Celebrate Canada Day at Markham Centre on July 1

— Event to be Headlined by JUNO Award-Nominated Singer and Actress Fefe Dobson — 

MARKHAM, ON – June 20, 2024 – Join the City of Markham’s annual Canada Day celebrations, presented by Tim Hortons, at Markham Centre in Downtown Markham on July 1 from 3 to 11 PM.

Headlining this year’s event is JUNO award-nominated singer and actress Fefe Dobson.

“Be prepared for an electrifying Canada Day experience when this year's headlining act, the acclaimed singer and actress Fefe Dobson, takes to the stage!” says Markham Mayor Frank Scarpitti. “Since her platinum-certified debut album in 2003, she has been paving the way with her rock-pop sound. Last year she released her latest album with her classic blend of rock pop melodies. We can’t wait to celebrate Canada Day with Fefe Dobson helping us to get the party started.”

In addition to live performances that are sure to have everyone on their feet, this year’s event will feature lots of free and fun activities for the entire family to enjoy.

“This year we’ll have two kids zones – meaning, double the fun for everyone!” says Canada Day Co-Chair, Councillor Amanda Yeung Collucci. “In Zone 1, be ready to explore our Sensory Activity Zone, and a variety of inflatables including a big slide, climbing wall, axe throwing, and more! Zone 2 will have airbrush tattoos, a colouring area, and our friends from Hands on Exotics will be back to get attendees up close and personal with some friendly animals.”

Markham’s signature spectacular fireworks display begins at 10 PM to cap off a fun-filled day of activities and celebrations.

There will be ample, free parking available onsite, and the event location, located at Birchmount Rd./Enterprise Blvd. is easily accessible by transit.
