Markham launches new Program Registration and Facility Booking System
– Make the switch starting today for a chance to win a prize! –
MARKHAM, ON – June 19, 2023 – The City of Markham is pleased to announce a new Recreation, Culture and Library Program Registration and Facility Booking System, and encourages you to make the switch beginning today.
The new system makes enrolling in recreation, culture and library programs, and the booking of City facilities, easier for residents by allowing them to do everything in one place.
In addition to a user-friendly interface, the new system is also built with increased processing capacity, which will mean fewer slowdowns on busy registration dates.
“We are so excited to launch this long-awaited upgrade as we continue our digital journey,” says Markham Mayor, Frank Scarpitti. “The new system is easy to use and will be a great tool for everyone. It’s important for residents to make the switch to the new system by creating an account, in time for Fall registration, which begins on August 15. You will not be able to register for programs, or rent facility spaces, without a new account.”
Residents who create their account between June 19 and August 1, 2023 will be eligible to win a weekly prize. Prizes include: Two tickets to Twin Flames & Friends at Flato Markham Theatre, Markham Museum general admission passes, a Makerspace session at Markham Public Library to create a customized t-shirt or mug, one-month Recreation activity pass, and more. The earlier you enter, the better your chances to win a prize. Read the contest rules and regulations at markham.ca/RegisterNow.
Important dates to remember:
June 19 – Residents will be able to access the new system and create an account via markham.ca/RegisterNow. At this time, residents who have existing credits from the current system (EZ Reg), can request to have them transferred to the new system. Recreation Activity Pass holders, Fitness, Markham Museum and Varley Art Gallery members will also be contacted directly by email to transfer their memberships into the new system.
August 1 – Fall 2023 programs will be available for viewing in the new system.
August 15 – Fall 2023 program registration opens. General Recreation, Markham Museum, Varley Art Gallery and Markham Public Library programs, that are starting after September 5, will be available for booking.
August 22 – Fall 2023 Recreation Swimming registration opens.
September 5 – Facility rental spaces available for booking.
Important notice: Registration for Summer and Pay-per-Play programs that take place prior to September 4 can be done using the existing EZ Reg system. Registration for all Fall programs with a start date after September 5 will need to be done in the new system.
