Markham’s Park and Play Fun Tour is Back and Better Than Ever
MARKHAM, ON – June 19, 2024 – The City of Markham is thrilled to welcome back the Park and Play Fun Tour for a second consecutive year, a traveling recreational program bringing free activities and games to community parks across the city all summer long.
From July 10 to August 28, children aged 4 to 12 can enjoy giant board games, mini sports, inflatable ride-on animals, an ice cream truck and much more. This initiative, which began last year with the goal of providing fun activities for children during the summer months, aims to promote outdoor play and community engagement.
“We are delighted to bring back the Park and Play Fun Tour, bringing exciting and engaging activities directly to our community parks,” said Mayor Frank Scarpitti. “This initiative underscores our commitment to providing enriching, free recreational opportunities for children and families in Markham. We look forward to seeing our parks filled with laughter and joy all summer long.”
“This program reflects our commitment to fostering vibrant community connections and providing accessible recreational opportunities for all children," said Morgan Jones, Commissioner of Community Services. “The Park and Play Fun Tour also gives our attendees an opportunity to learn more about other City of Markham services as there will be activations from various city departments.”
The Park and Play Fun Tour will take place rain or shine. So, children and their parents are encouraged to grab their sunscreen and water bottles for some outdoor play. Keep an eye out for Markham’s Park and Play Fun Tour at a park near you!
