Dog Poop Belongs in the Green Bin — Not at the Park!
Dog Poop Belongs in the Green Bin — Not at the Park!
Do your part to protect our environment. To prevent dog poop from decomposing and getting into our local streams and rivers, always bring it home and put it in the green bin!
Did you know?
- You can use any plastic bag to scoop your poop (like grocery bags or bread bags — they're the perfect shape for your hand). Bags do not have to be compostable.
- To help reduce the amount of pet waste ending up in the landfill, the City has installed green bins in all dogs' off-leash areas. Visit Off-Leash Dog Parks to learn more.
Grant Programs Available for Historic Properties
Markham is committed to protecting and preserving its built cultural heritage resources.
Matching grants are available to preserve, restore or replicate missing heritage attributes for properties designated under the Ontario Heritage Act.
Find out more about these programs and if the City can help you realize your heritage project at Markham.ca/Heritage.
